The Global Environment Facility (GEF), established in 1991, helps developing countries fund projects and programs that protect the global environment. GEF grants support projects related to biodiversity, climate change, international waters, land degradation, the ozone layer, and persistent organic pollutants.
GEF is an independent financial organization that provides grants to developing countries for projects that benefit the global environment and promote sustainable livelihoods in local communities.

Mongabay.com is a great site developed by one individual, Rhett A. Butler, which shows that just one person can do amazing things!
Mongabay.com aims to raise interest in wildlife and wildlands while promoting awareness of environmental issues. Originally the site was based around a text on tropical rainforests developed between 1996 and 2000, but today the site has expanded to other topics. In 2005, Mongabay released a kids version of the rainforest site and launched the mongabay environmental science news site. In 2006, they ntroduced the first foreign language versions of the kids' site.
